Scholastic excellence is very important to us at Beta Sigma Psi. We strive to do the best that we can every semester. We often study together in the lounge in order to help each other with classes and to encourage better study habits. We have had the third highest GPA among fraternities for the past few semesters. Beta Sigma Psi is proud to hold high academic standards at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign.

Beta Sigma Psi currently has study hours in effect every school night, and each brother sets a GPA goal before the semester, and the scholarship chair records it. Those who reach their goals are rewarded at the end of each semester.

Each year, the Beta Sigma Psi Educational Foundation gives scholarships to current members of the fraternity based on Academic Excellence, Campus Involvement, and Financial Need. In addition, the Alpha Alumni Chapter of Beta Sigma Psi annually offers a $1000 scholarship to an incoming freshman Lutheran male.

Many actives have made their contribution to the "test files," a place where you can find old notes, previous exams, old labs, and other study materials unavailable to you in the dorms. Many of these items, such as old exams, would have to be purchased at bookstores, while for Beta Sigma Psi brothers, they are available free.
