Alpha Chapter

Social

Socially, Beta Sigma Psi maintains an active role in the Greek community. While the spiritual and scholastic elements of Beta Sigma Psi are a priority, the social side is not neglected. We feel that one must include this important principle as well to truly become a well-rounded Christian gentlemen.

Here are some recent events from our social calendar:

Football Block

Tailgating and enjoying Illini football along with a sorority

Exchanges

Actives from our house and from a sorority get together and get to know each other better. Some exchanges in the past year have included a happy hour, ice-skating, and a wine night at our chapter house.

Parties

Theme parties from this past year were Office Space, Pajamas, and Heroes and Villains Party.

Mom's Day / Dad's Day

during these respective weekends we'll host a few activities at the house and then often go to events on campus together.

Serenades

A few times each semester, BetaSigs sing, dance, and perform skits for as many sororities as they can fit into a night. A few days later, the sororities come to fraternities to put on a show of their own. Recent BetaSig serenades have been called some of the best sororities have ever seen!

Philanthropies

BetaSigs take part in many philanthropies and community service activities around campus.

Homecoming

On Friday night, there is an alumni mixer where actives can meet alumni. The Homecoming Banquet and Formal is typically Saturday night.

Barbecues

All of Ohio Street is invited when the BetaSigs decide to grill out. These are often done in conjunction with other fraternities and sororities on our street and just this past spring we held one to help raise money for Habitat for Humanity.

Gold Rose

A staple of any chapter of Beta Sigma Psi, Gold Rose formal is held towards the end of the Spring semester.  In recent years, our chapter has done everything from a dance on a Mississippi Riverboat to a formal banquet in one of Indianapolis' finest hotels to a trip to Second City comedy club in Chicago.  Many years the brothers will also name one of the dates the Gold Rose sweetheart and serenade her towards the end of the formal.
