Beta Sigma Psi

Alpha Chapter

Our Symbols

The Badge of Beta Sigma Psi consists of black cross contained in a heart which is superimposed on a gold rose (Luther's Emblem). The emblem is placed on a shield with the Greek letters Beta Sigma Psi in an arc above the rose. The variation of the badge includes eighteen pearls bordering the shield. The badge is worn by activated members of Beta Sigma Psi.

The coat of arms has four elements: the crest, the chain, Luther's Emblem, and the Fraternity motto. The Crest is divided into four quadrants. The upper left quadrant has in it a shining star, in the upper right quadrant the torch of learning, in the lower left quadrant a rising sun, and an anchor in the lower right quadrant. A chain is directly above the Crest, and Luther's Emblem is centered above it. The Motto appears below the Crest in a banner.

Luther’s Emblem consists of a black cross superimposed over a red heart superimposed over a white rose with ten petals superimposed over a blue field with a circular gold border. The black cross represents Christ’s death on a cross, while the heart represents God’s love for us. The white rose signifies the new life we have in Christ and the circular blue field represents the sky and the endless life we now have through Christ.

The Gold rose of the official flower of Beta Sigma Psi. The fraternity's national publication and yearly national formal are also named after the flower.
